Human Design, without the cult energy

Human Design has a vibe. A lot of the time, that vibe is “I have just discovered something that explains EVERYTHING about EVERYONE and you must listen.”

Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn’t. Either way: here’s a soft, secular re-frame.

Type, but make it metabolic

Forget “energy types.” Read these as metabolic patterns — how you spend and restore your bandwidth.

  • Generator — Your engine runs on doing the work that actually lights you up. Boredom is the warning light.
  • Projector — Your engine runs on noticing patterns and being invited into them. Doing too much without invitation = burnout.
  • Manifestor — Your engine runs on initiating, then resting. Asking permission is exhausting.
  • Reflector — Your engine runs on environment. You feel the room before the room feels itself.

Strategy, in plain English

Each type has a “strategy” — basically, the move that costs you less.

| Type | Costs less | Costs more | |—|—|—| | Generator | Responding to what’s already calling | Forcing a yes | | Projector | Waiting for invitations | Spamming with unsolicited advice | | Manifestor | Informing, then doing | Asking, then resenting | | Reflector | Sleeping on it | Snap decisions |

That’s it. No initiation. No chakra colours. Just: how do I spend my bandwidth in a way I can keep up?
